Depending on the manufacturer and the size of the speaker, it would not be uncommon to realize a weight savings of 10-15 lbs per speaker in a bass enclosure.The epoxy coating does change the sound a bit. Gives a bit brighter highs. If the bass is defretted you must fill the fret slots and sand level before applying epoxy. It's not easy to get a professional looking job but it can be done.
