I never noticed this until now, but I was looking at the pictures of my P232 since its for sale and I don't see a serial. I'm inspecting the gun now and can't find it either. I bought it second hand in Pensacola from a sailor, it came in the factory box and that has the serial. I have a SIG P226 that was a factory refurbish. The box label has a date of January 24, 2019. I don't know if this is the original date of manufacture or the date of the re-build. Is there any where I can go and use the serial number to determine the original date of manufacture?

The serial number is: S4-46xxx. Normally, the P239 has 2 different serial number prefixes: SA (9mm), and SA4 (.40 S&W & .357 SIG). I've seen a few of the S4 prefixes like yours lately.
