It's a actually one wire that runs round and round all the posts, and back to the begining. All you need is some sort of test meter, or digital volt ohm meter. I soldered the wires together and axed the plug. The voltage regulator is a mosfet type and bleeds off the excess power. Therefore the stator is working at full capacity all the time.
