May 12, 2021 · 6.0 powerstroke losing power, need help! Been driving it daily for work since late august of 2020. Had 150k miles, it has almost 180k now. Problems started for me when I was pulling my 8.5 x 20’ enclosed trailer on the interstate (empty at the time). Truck was pulling nice and strong then all of a sudden my rpms started dropping. To sum up, 2008 6.4L Powerstroke is the worst of the lot, and you must avoid it. On paper, the 6.4L diesel engine delivers 350 horsepower and 650 torque right out of the box.
