For me Kotor 1 is easily the superior game. It had the classic Star Wars feel (while still telling a new story in a completely different era), the characters were awesome and the twist at the end is one of the best in video game history. Its among my favourite RPG's of all time. I think Kotor 2 is a bit overrated.While they aren't exact replica's I've made a few that are Star Cards in bf2 but with a kotor twist (e.g. Bacta Bomb gives 2 regeneration, Bounty Hunter gives bonuses to Throw Saves.) While they are quite "overpowered," most of them lose the og energy shield function and just give stat boosts instead. I think that KOTOR I was so beloved because it delivered the Star Wars experience fans had always wanted, in addition to being a great RPG. Also, the twist at the end FEELS like a classic Star Wars twist, on par with the big reveal of Darth Vader being Luke's father.
