They occur in the western margin of the Appalachians from New York to Tennessee; in the central region of the U.S. including Kentucky, southern Illinois, Missouri, Kansas and Arkansas, and in the Western States of Montana, Colorado, Wyoming and the Colorado Plateau.Kimberlite is available in black, bluish - grey, brown, dark greenish - grey, green, grey colors. The streak of a rock is the color of powder produced when it is dragged across an unweathered surface. The streak of Kimberlite is white.
