It goes like this, the battery has sufficient charge to energize the starter solenoid, but once the solenoid contacts close and power is supplied to the motor, voltage to the solenoid drops and the contacts open, removing power to the motor.

Goodmorning, good afternoon, or good evening I'm a police officer in the virgin island and we are using 750 vulcans as our department bikes. The problem i'm having is that the battery is diying or is being run down. I think it's because there were some strobe installed on the bikes.POGs were replaces with steel starting in 2000, so that won't be an issue. Once it has over 30-40k miles, it may need cam chain tensioner extenders, but that's an easy fix.
