As far as the kingpin vs hyper switch, I believe they essentially do the same thing dependent on the generation of maglock you get. I went with two sets of kingpin and gen 4 maglocks. When you buy a maglock it’ll give you options of pins to choose from, so say you chose the gen 4 maglock, you would select kingpin as your pin option.…

The arm of the maglock was shaved down about 40% of the thickness and it's still not enough to clear the ambi pedal when the maglock is pressed. As its shown in the pictures, it is just enough to clear the pedal when not pressed. Do not think I can shave down any more of the arm without significantly weakening the maglock.
