It was originally converted to run on LP, but seeing as someone ripped out half the system, I sourced a used carb off ebay to try and see if it'd run.2000 6x4 sluggish going up hills. Having trouble with my gator. It's running very sluggish when going up hills. I've changed the oil And plugs. New fuel and air filter. I checked the air intake for blockages and put on a new drive belt..the old one was worn down about a 1/4 of an inch compared to the new. Clutches seem like they are ...

Yes I double checked to make sure that's where the sound is coming from. I already replaced the nylon bushings that are part of the clutch.I have a 2012 825i and experienced most of the clutch problems folks have had. I really enjoy the Gator except for that clutch. I've pilfered the pics of the home made pulling tool...thanks for that. My Gator is 4 yrs old, but is a weekender...had the first clutch replaced by JD at 37 hrs. You didn't damage it, but you are suffering from a very common problem with JD Gators in general. The Primary clutch is sticking. Basically as the clutch warms up during operation friction increases within causing the clutch halves not to fully disengage. Low hours – just under 90. So I was reading about issues with the primary clutch and the symptoms that develop. None of the symptoms listed quite fit what I am experiencing. So no grinding at all. Recently noticed some "slipping" when trying to accelerate from a stop and occasionally it is difficult to get in gear. Checked w Deere and they will cover under warranty. Secondary clutch sleeve bearings (bushings) On our 2011 Gator 855D, one of the two bearing sleeves inside the hub of secondary clutch (on the transaxle side) split and moved outside the hub. It prevents the discs from sliding sliding towards each other on the central shaft. You have to shut it off and just hold your foot on the brake and start it in gear. It’s been like this for a while because all switches and safety devices have been bypassed. it shifts fine. The fuel regulator inside the fuel tank is causing this problem.The regulator is plastic and will warp causing fuel to leak by and reduce fuel pressure during startup.Your dealer should know about this problem (there is a service bulliton on it) and will be able to fix it.
I told them the problem started when the Gator was under warranty and it should be corrected at no cost to me. They claimed the best they could do was split the cost three ways with John Deere paying $200, the Dealer $200, and $200 for me.
