I think the inter plant planters work great for narrow rows, but unless you plant corn in 15" rows I would have one planter for corn and one for beans. We traded our 1780 and a 16 row 1770 recently for a 1790 16-31. I think they are asking somewhere between 25 and 30 for the 1780. Check the 5R solenoid for magnetism, no magnetism will indicate a break in the wire, or a fold control box issue. The wire that should be powered for the fold position is green and comes off pin B at the fold control box. For simplicity the 2600 Kinze was the best and did a good job of singulating seeds but you had to watch grade sizes as a too large or small of bean would cause problems & you'd have to change seed plates.
