Prior to installing the new cartridge, snap the stem extension (#4) onto the new cartridge (#2). The valve body (#3) opening has notches at the 3:00 and 9:00 positions that the tabs on the top rim of the cartridge (#2) need to align with. Slide the cartridge (#2) into the valve body (#4). Install the cartridge nut (#1) by threading it on.Using the plastic twisting tool (see image A below) provided in the 1225 cartridge kit (#6), rotate the cartridge (#6) 1/4 of a turn (90 degrees) in either direction.
