Use Magnet to gather a small pile of Gems (or manually do it one at a time) and dump them into a Pan. Pour Pan onto a turned off Straight Conveyor. Conveyor should feed a Sorter setup with 4 Sorters, one for each type of Polished Gem, each of which goes into it's own Gem Compressor. Doing the math shows that the value of the compressed gem is based entirely on weight and not whether the gems are cut or not. Compressing uncut gems will increase the value/weight while compressing cut gems will decrease the value/weight, and neither cutting nor compressing has an effect on weight.
