I come from the original DayZ mod for arma 2 years ago and while I think the arma 3 version runs better most people will probably be on the standalone. I’m sure you could find some people still in arma 3 mod you’ll have better luck on the standalone. Or take the ultimate deep dive and move on to tarkov like a lot of DayZ players do.And you stumble across forts and tents and cars stashed way in odd places.. you get out of sight, you see who comes and goes. You find GOOD stash places, you take your time.. you find out how to move fast and disappear fast. If no one knows you're there , that's cool, if they don't know you came and went, that's cool. However the best thing about dayZ is that there is a server for everyone depending on how you want to enjoy the game. If you like vanilla i would recommend karma krew or zero servers are lightly modded. Or endzone for a few more mods while still holding the integrity of vanilla. Or if you want full blow modded server with traders and bases try ... Maybe just rowboats. Unfortunately Chernarus isn't Vietnam so after the ocean moving by boat doesn't really get you anywhere. Oh, there will be boats.. they'll just sail boats where you'll have to find sails and sheets that aren't ruined. Another one that might peak your interest is a newer game called marauders. It’s basically escape from Tarkov but in space and steampunk style. Path of titans is nothing like DayZ but somehow feels similar.Status_Access_Violation means your PC is unable to write to ram / page file for some reason. This can be not enough ram, too many other ram hogging processes running or even the first sign of a damaged ram stick. DayZ is a ram hog. The standalone is for people who have played the mod and are ready to "move ahead" and help shape the game to what it aims to be, the reason it's so popular is all the people who have already played and loved the mod "went on" with the Standalone.
