What makes you think that the gun is a Sweet Sixteen? The serial number on the receiver shows that it is a Standardweight 16ga Browning Auto 5 made in 1962. Does the gun have a gold trigger? The barrel number on A5 of this era will often not match the receiver number. The good news is that 16ga factory slug barrels/guns are pretty rare.That model was introduced in 1958, and the serial number should have a prefix consisting of one or two digits and the letter V. One digit for the years 1958-68, then two for 1968-76. None of these guns should have a serial number on the barrel, though Nigel’s revelation makes anything possible. FN Sweet Sixteen barrels are marked with the "B" and the 70s FN version have the light band instead of the three hole drilled barrel ring.
