Pretty sure you can just hardcode the stepper current (MAX_CURRENT) in the firmware or use the MCode (M906) that is built into Marlin to set it after the fact. Assuming you can send the printer MCode commands. There should also be a way to set it in the configuration menu once the board is flashed too.
