Here's the procedure to getting to the knock sensor: Release fuel pressure. Remove timing belt. Drain coolant by removing drain plugs from both sides of cylinder block. Separate ASCD and accelerator control wire from intake manifold collector (VG33E only). Remove intake manifold collector from engine (VG33E only).2. Remove inner wheel well cover. You could probably manage without this step but it does make it much easier. 3. Locate the sensor. It is covered by a rubber boot. 4. Pull the boot back to reveal the sensor.
